Retrouvailles

“Retrouvailles” is French for the happiness of meeting again after a long time. Its funny how not all words in other languages can translate to one single word in English. There is a double-edged sense of comfort in knowing that no one really knows, that there are no words for some things. No single word can capture the emotion, the experience that some events or feelings, such has meeting again after a long time, can bring.

I hope that one day everyone gets to experience “retrouvailles.”
